Science Expo

This year we did a science expo and we had to do it based on food science or environmental science and You could choose which one you wanted to do. I chose food science because I thought it would be more fun working with food. So I decided to do dancing noodles and raisins. I found my experiment on YouTube and I just typed in food science and this brought up. I chose to work by myself because If you went with someone, you would have to organise play dates and one person ends up doing all the work and finding all the information. I think my experiment went really well but the one thing that didn't work was that I put way too much water in it and the noodles just sank straight to the bottom. When we had to make the posters in class I thought it was really fun because you had to right  write down all the information, print out labels and get your photos. And I thought my poster turned out really well. When we got to the day of the science expo I felt really confident but I was also a bit nervous because I was scared I would forget my information or mess up. After I had done everything and said my experiment to the judge I thought I did really well. The parents came after to look at all our experiments then that was the end of the day. If you would want to do this experiment at home this is what you'll need and have to do:

Apparatus:
* Water
* Vinegar
* 2 Vases
* Seedless Raisins
* Cooked noodles
* bicarbonate of soda or baking soda
* tea spoon
* Food coloring

Method:
- Add one cup of water to each vase and one cup of vinegar
- Then add the noodles to one and raisins to the other
- Then add 1 drop of food colouring of your choice
- And one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda to each glass and see what happens next.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoy making this experiment!

Star-Girl

Hello everybody! We have been doing a stop-motion project during our design and technology time at school and we  had to make a short video of a superhero or villain that we had to create with a friend.
  • This stop-motion project is about learning how to make different things  look like they are moving and to learn how to work as a team and use different peoples ideas.
  • We created our character because we thought that it would be a nice idea to have a character that shoots things out her hands and that can look like she is saving the day.
  • I personally would change  a bit of how the body looks and make the clothes a bit smoother and the feet a bit bigger because the feet are a bit thin and our girl is falling over whenever we try to make her stand. I would make her body smoother because it looks quite ruff and some of the wires we used in the neck are sticking out of her body.
  • My highlight of this project so far has been making our set to record on because i had fun putting all the candy on the street and i had fun making the lampposts out of lollipop sticks and marshmallows.
My frustrations about this blog has been trying to finish on time and trying to fit everything in.

My weekend

This weekend I am going tabboganing for my friends party and she is turning 12. I'm really excited to go! Then I am going home with her afterwards to open up her presents with her. And then on Sunday it's my dad's birthday so we are just going out for lunch with my family and I'm also really excited for that because I get to spend time with my family and then we are just going to relaxe after that.

Living Green

Hi guys!
I have been working on a survey about living green. I want to hear about how you guys live every day. I want to know if you are living the right way. I have been working on these questions during school time for Mrs Kent in NS and I would love to hear what your feedback is.
Thanks for reading my blog!

GRADE 6 CAMP

We went to camp on the 9 of March, And went to Rocklands campsite. I was so excited to leave school and I knew that we would have a lot of fun there.

The bus ride was very looooong but I had fun during it. When we got there we did obstacle courses and I Really enjoyed doing the septic tank which is when you had to swing on a rope over a huge pile of mud(yuck). And I really did not want to fall in because then I would be all muddy. But the good thing is I didn't fall in, another thing I enjoyed was playing truth and dare with my friends and my best friend because we were having a lot of fun daring each other weird things:).

The challenges I faced was having to wake up quite early in the morning so we could be ready on time and because the nights before we went to bed quite late and we were just giggling the whole night, we could also hear the cabin next door and we kept on telling each other to keep quiet and that went on for like forever.:(  But we finally got to sleep:) The other challenges I faced was in my group a lot of people were talking at the same time and screaming and that got really anoyying but then we finally stopped and it got better.

At the end of camp we were all so tired and exhausted but we didn't want to leave. Then we got in the bus and I sat next to Emilia my bff and we had a lot of fun and we were giggling the whole way home.
And then we got to school and our parents picked us up and that was the end of camp:(

MY GOALS FOR 2016

Why its important to set goals?

1. Its important to set goals so you can always aim towards them and see what you have achieved, and if u don"t set goals you cant aim towards anything and you wont feel like you need to achieve anything at the end of the day.

What a SMART goal is?
2. When you want to create a smart goal you have to be specific,measurable,attainable and realistic.

AN EXAMPLE OF A SILLY GOAL AND A SMART GOAL.

A silly goal is: Eat no food for three weeks.
A smart goal is: To achieve my academic honours at the end of the year an to make the softball team.

My PERSONAL goals.

Try top get high marks in my exams.
To achieve my academic honours in grade 6.
To spend more time with my family.
And to make the softball team at the end of the year.
